Last month I was approached by the brilliant Fiction Uncovered and asked if I’d be their guest editor for May. I was absolutely delighted. I’m a huge fan of their prize, which recognises brilliant writers who often haven’t had the success they deserve. (You can read my short piece on last year’s winners here.)
I’ll be publishing four pieces throughout the month under the theme of ‘outsiders’. The first one, ‘Reading Regional and Cultural Accents‘ is up now.
Congratulations, Naomi – I’m just nipping over to have a look.

Cool! Love your list of 10 books in regional accents, as well–many good choices! I’d like to read The Colour of Milk, have heard good things.

Thank you. Oh, I love that book. It was one that came as such a surprise to me too.

Great list and topic. I love reading in accents and enjoy writing that way so its good news that other people are keen on it too
