I love Fiction Uncovered, I think they do a brilliant job of highlighting British writers who, for whatever reason, don’t seem to have garnered the attention they deserve.
This year’s list, in my opinion, is their best yet. Eight titles, an equal gender split, and two of the best books I’ve read in the last nine months. The winners are:

All the Birds, Singing – Evie Wyld
Lolito – Ben Brooks
The Dig – Cynan Jones

I’ve listed the women first (of course) and if you click on Mr Loverman and All the Birds, Singing you can read my reviews. I already have copies of Little Egypt and Mrs Hemingway and I’ll be reading and reviewing those over the summer.

I’ve read Mrs Hemingway and All the Birds, Singing; loved the former and didn’t click with the latter. I’d say Mrs Hemingway was possibly one of the best books I have read this year.
I’ve not heard of the rest, so I may spend my summer investigating a few.

Yes! Mr Loverman is so so good and didn’t get the attention it deserved last year.
I’m yet to read Glaister but the few people I know who have read her are evangelical about her. Looking forward to discovering her backlist.

Don’t think I remembered seeing you thought so highly of Mr Loverman. I heard her read from it before and wanted to get to it, but it passed me by. Must read it now.
Until looking at this list, I didn’t know that Gerard Woodward has a new book out. I’ve really liked his writing in the past.
